Hello Sanders! Welcome, we have boys of similar ages, do yours keep you on your toes like ours do with their questions and adventures?
Way to go on making the shift, it was a conversation we had over the past few weeks but discerned to stick with the catholic school and me teaching for another year! I am eager to hear about everyone’s different situations and to learn from the experiences
Hello~ I love the way you described your adventure of family life as its so fitting to the conversations we have! I can’t wait to learn from you too!
military life is not for the faint of heart so thank you for all you do! Good luck with your next chapter and we look forward to getting to know you
hello fellow Ohioans, Thank you for your assistance to vets! I know that is a much needed area!
We love camping and gardening as well! TN is on our list to check out hopefully next summer as a camping destination! I am intrigued with bee keeping but not quite to the point of adding them to the farm although I do love honey so its tempting
I am so glad to know we are not the only “farm life” family. We were home so much during quarantine our cows got spoiled and we’re much more like pets thank farm animals! We too are focusing on truly on a fully family approach different from the way we we’re brought up so its great to see so many other parents striving for the same thing.
Thank you for being our “founders” We are so looking forward to seeing you at Holy Family Fest!
Thanks for helping make the neighborhood international! I personally love hearing and learning about the different ways our Catholic faith comes out around the world! Can’t wait to “know you” better
We too are looking for more community so I thank you to for your conversation with the Hernon’s about the need! Can’t wait to get to know you better!
Hello and welcome to the neighborhood
Sandra~ My husband loves to read on apologetics as he struggles to maintain his relationship with his staunch Lutheran family. We love anything by Scott Hahn and John Bergsma. And I am re-readng The Mindful Catholic again as I prepare to dive into Dr Batteros curriculum so I can use it in my classroom in the fall. I also love “lighter catholic reads” like Victorus Secret, Death by Mini-van and Jen Fulwiler too!
Stephanie, I shop in Findlay on a regular basis and we have a pastoral connection as Fr Scott Woods is now the pastor at our twinned parish! I have heard many great things about the St. Michael’s community even though we’ve usual stuck pretty close to our home parish in the past year we’ve been venturing out just to check out the many other communities in the diocese.
We are so excited about Holy Family Fest and are hoping to “recruit” others to go as friends did with us! I can’ wait to share our experience and hopefully chat with Mike and Alicia in person again.
My former co-worker graduated from Findlay and her daughter was very active at the horse farm for awhile, such a small world!
I love to read on our faith too, I jumped on the bread baking trend during quarantine, do you do sourdough or have any tips or recipes you’d care to share?
Hello there! I traveled to Australia while in college and didn’t want to come home at the end of my 6 weeks and so want to take my family back until then having “friends” there will have to suffice! Our kiddos are the same age as your middle bunch!
I am starting my second year of teaching in the fall and am gaining religion classes some of which will be confirmation prep so I am excited to “know” someone who has tackled that challenge. Our daughters are also similar ages, my Abby is very into anything artistic and doll related right now, what is Logan interested in?
Hello there! What type of gardening do you do? Flowers, vegetables? I do more with the fruits and vegetables but I am getting more into the flowers as I fill in my Mary garden.
I love your story and ours is similar and Messy Family was one of the first “catholic podcasts” I got into that has really fueled our renewal in a more catholic cultured family life!
I am starting my second year as a middle school teacher this fall and will be adding religion to my classes as I trade out math (thank goodness)! Any tips for this newbie?
Hello from the Moffetts, camping and cooking are two of the ways we connect as a family too! Do you have any favorites when it comes to cooking?
I am deeply appreciative that you we’re the pet project that started Messy Family! I love the way you described your chiefs and (lack of) indians. That has always been a favorite descriptor of mine since my beloved 3rd grade teacher used it!
Hello and congratulations! We too love our minivan and made the upgrade just before our 3rd was born. We live on the family farm and love to encourage others to try gardening and raising your own food! Its rewarding on so many levels!
Hello Pooles! We live a farm with cattle and raise grain crops and some day the chicken coop will be up and ready! I understand the busyness of life as my kiddos are of similar ages but I am extremely grateful for the space of country living in this season of shelter at home and being able to have entertainment right at our finger tips!
hello~ I too am a gardener and cook! But sweets are my weakness and I do alot of baking too! What do you grow in your CA garden? I love learning about the different seasons of different locations and how they compare to our seasons here in Ohio.
Congratulations, Can’t wait to “meet” your little one! My husband and I are foodies too! Our favorite thing to do is recreate or copy cat restaurant meals. We’ve come to like our homemade chipotle and Chinese better than the restaurant version. I love to share and exchange recipes!
hello~ Congrats a new house and baby, what a full season in life! I have a science background as well and recently started teaching after working part time in non traditional education while my kiddos were smaller. I too love to be in the kitchen and am trying to up my liturgical living, especially as i start teaching middle school religion.
Hello, we are fairly close here in Ohio. We love the outdoor world with our kiddos and finally got started when our youngest was almost 2..now at 4 she is a pro and its great that she can be in her bunk rather than the pack and play. Can’t wait to get “get to know” you
We are fellow campers as well. We are on our third summer with our camper trailer and it is truly one of the best things we’ve purchased! We haven’t ventured very far from Ohio yet but do love camping in MI. National parks are on our list as the kids get older, and we try to keep up with my military brother in law and their family as they have been to over 20!
I too am a middle school teacher (only going into my second year) so I may have lots of questions as I tackle some new subject matter this year but I’m really loving the age, since my own children haven’t hit that mark yet!
What a wonderful weekend for your family. Sending prayers!
